Congrats...I have my interview this month at Chennai and have some questions for you.

    1. Did the consulate officer confirmed, that your docs are OK and you will be getting the approval or we can make sure only after opening the Bluedart courier the next day?

    2. Does, the consulate put any stamp on your passport after CP approval?

    3. While returning, sould we need to show any docs to the Immigration Authorities at Indian airports?

    4. What are the vaccinations did the doctor (Dr.Viajalakshmi) asked you to take and how much was the fees?

    Thanks.

      chennai cp processing

      hello rchand
      with regard to your questions,
1.The consular officer is an indian who might be the person who initially collected your docs which was the case with me.he/she did not say anything to me after reviewing the docs.you will be asked to sign a paper about your rights when entering the usa and will be asked to pay the visa issuance fees of $65 which indicates that you have got your approval.

2.no stamp will be put on your passport.your non immigrant visa will be cancelled.stamp is put at POE.

3.You will be issued an immigrant visa which is a sheet of paper with your photograph and all other details valid for one year.this will be stapled to the sealed envelope.you have to show the immigrant visa to the indian immigration.

4.the only vacction I got was MMR you have to tell her that you had chicken pox as a child.the total fees including the exam and vaccination was Rs. 1200.00

      hope this helps.

      best of luck.
