Is W2 required
Not Legal Advice:
It comes down to wether you have dependents.
If you don't then you will probably not be required to show W2 since CP can be done even by people who have never set foot in US (therefore would not have W2).
If you do then you will need evidence that you can support those dependents in the US (so that they will not become public charges). This is where W2's come in handy. They show that you have a source of income over and above the minimum poverty guidelines as stated on the Affidavit of Support (I-134).
However some consulates just ask for bank statements and/or proof of assets instead of making you sign the I-134 for your dependents (at least thats what mine did).
So take all your W2's if you have them. It wont hurt and may help.
