Difference between AC-140 and I-140

Can someone tell me whats the diff. between AC-140 and I-140 and if there is perticular eligibility for AC-140?

If you do I140 and select AOS as preference, with some consulates you may do Attorney Certified I140. This circumvents NVC when you approach your consulate directly.

After I140 for AOS is approved, you file I824 and using receipt send I140 approval notice and Packet 3 to consulate which then assign you a case number and schedule an interview for you.

Chennai does not accept AC I140. There is some uncertainty about new procedures with regard to CP in general at this time.

Thanks Abu for the info. That means its only applicable to I-140 with AOS and not for I-140 with CP.
