Could a valid H1-B be cancelled in CP

I have interview for CP in 3 weeks.
Have a valid H1B visa of current employer.
Could they cancel your visa if CP denied or request to provide additional information or they ask to reapply

First thing they do is cancel U R H1.

In my case, the consular officer cancelled H-1B stamp only when the decision was made to issue immigrant visa.

H1 cancelled while IV on hold

Dear Alboit, can you please write some more
details about your case i.e. how the NIV was
not cancelled until the IV was issued.
I am right now facing this problem (Please read
other posting with subject - IV on hold after
CP interview at Mumbai). Basically, the consulate
is not quite clear about what do with my case,
but they cancelled both mine and my wife's valid
H1s at the time of interview.

I guess, it's not quite relevant for you at this time, as your H-1 stamp was cancelled already. In my case (BTW, it was TCN case in Ciudad Juarez), the consular officer reviewed our files, conducted 3-minute straightforward interview, and announced that she approves our immigrant visas, and we should pay visa issuance fee ($65 per head), and wait to receive visas. Only at that moment she announced that she'll cancel our H-1 visas, and did it right then.

Somecases they cancel , some don't

Hi,

I had my CP done in september'01. They cancelled my H1 while taking my interview (or simply an oath taking ceremony , if you will). However they didnot cancel my wife's H4 !.
