  • Important - CP'ers pls read

Today I talked to an operator at NVC and got the case number.
But she mentioned that CP procedure would be changed from Jan 2002 - it is that NVC will send packet of info to my lawyer and then we have to send it to Misouri and they will send it to NVC where they will review the file and send it to consulate.
I am totaly strange about this as I knew from the post is that I need to send packet to consulate directly..
Any info regarding this pls post....

Will this apply only to those notifications that are sent to the lawyers (to fill out P-3 and send) after Jan. 02 or will this also apply to the notifications that have already been sent to the lawyers asking them to send the Pkt-3 to consulate directly. In the latter case, will NVC call each individual attorney to whom they have sent in the notifications?

      If this is correct, then
Applicants will need to be notified individually with P3 sent to them. I have some doubts about if the new procedure will really take place.

It seems, from what I have read, that Packet IV is no longer being sent by the individual consulates. It Looks as if the procedure for everyone is now similar to that used for certain consulates where you send packet III back to the NVC and they schedule your appointment.

          KW177 your presumption is right.
Abu this is the new procedure that they will follow.
Today also I spoke to an operator and she confirmed me the same thing. Also some posting in Immigration portal says the same thing.

Does this mean an added delay in the CP? These days, about three months from PKt-3 being sent to the consulate and for interview being scheduled seems to be the norm for consulates from India.
If Pkt-3 now goes to NVC and they forward it to the consulate then the processing time might stretch a little.

              Maybe, yet maybe not.
Also, fees to be paid in US, but only for some countries, including India.

              Some observations/questions:
              * If you send P4 to NVC, it is not known why you would need to go to the consulate at all.
              * If P3 is processed by NVC, then consulate does not need to do it (so maybe no added time).
              * Documents not in english might need to be translated.
              * NVC may have higher workload, which may cause delay if not handled properly.
