Process is the same as described in this website under "Consular Processing".

By the time you submit you I140 to the time you get your appointment, you should count on 6 to 9 months provided there are no mistakes when form are submitted.

I my case, we started the process in April 2000 and I will have my interview next week at Montreal consulate.
