Immihelp - Pkt 3 Filing for Regular CP

Immihelp,

My I-140 was recently approved for Regular CP. NVC is yet to receive my file from VSC and generate the Case number. My consulate is Mumbai.

My questions are:

1. Once I get to know my Case Number from NVC, do I need to wait for the "NVC posted Pkt 3" or "can I download the Pkt 3 forms and send them directly to Mumbai consulate without waiting"?

2. If so, are there any issues/caveats that I need to specifically address?

Is there a specific reason why u think one should wait for the packet 3 from NVC?

Re: wait for P3

NVC sends out the P3 at the same time they forward the file to the consulate.
You could send a downloaded P3 to the consulate before NVC sends out the P3, but since the consulate wouldn't be able to enter it into their system without the file, they often just throw it away.
So it is important to make sure that the consulate has the file, and if you wait for the P3 to arrive you can be sure of that.

JoeF, so is it ok if I download pkt3 fill everything and keep all the paperwork ready. The moment we receive pkt. 3 from NVC, simultaneously we can send out pkt 3 out to the consulate? Is it ok?
