Employment Letter for Spouse

This question is for people who have already done consular processing at Chennai. Do we need to have a notarized employment letter for your spouse if you are the primary applicant? I called up the chennai consulate and the official said I don't need an employment letter for my wife if my wife was on H1. Is it true?

Also she said no affidavit of financial support is needed for employment based immigrants. (I-134). Is it true?

If you are primary applicant, you don't need anything from your spouse's employer.

I-134 is needed for employment based cases.
I-864 is needed for family based cases.
