Spouse out of status

Hi all,
My wife's I94 expired in May. Unfortunately we overlooked this.
When my h1 came for renewal we noticed this. She is leaving to
India in Nov to beat 180 days. We are also expecting CP interview in
December.

I read somewhere that if spouse continuously stays less than
180 days after I-94 expiry date, it should not be a problem.

I have the following :
1) Please confirm whether what I read is correct
2) Can someone give the url for this law?
3) Does it affect her Green card
if she leaves the country with expired I-94?
4) In OF-230 Part II on the second page there is one question
relating to this. What is the correct answer in this case?
5) What are the typical questions expected on this issue in the
interview?
