CP interview at Chennai, having problems!

Folks, Has anyone tried postponing interview dates for consular processing at Chennai? I was called for the interview on July 20th. However due to many reasons I was not able to go to India at that time. Upon contacting the consulate by phone, they instructed me to fax a letter asking for a change in the date. Well that was in July and I am still trying to reschedule the interview. I contacted the consulate many times by phone. Each time the response was "we have not received any communications from you, please send another letter". I sent many letters, faxes. Got the confirmation from federal express that they were delivered. But the consulate still tells me they have not received any! The lady who answers the phone simply hangs up after telling me this..

I am so frustrated at this point and don't know what to do. Just want to share it with the community and get any pointers on what I could do at this point.

If you have a friend/relative there, have them go personally with your letter requesting change.

Tried that too

I did sent a coupe of emails. No reply.. Sent a total of five faxes and three letters by federal express. They say they did not recieve any! Looks like all my communications are going into a back hole... I am surprised that no one else has experienced anything liek this..

Try this...

Call up first, and request (explain your situation) the person taking the call to stand by the Fax machine, and then send the fax. Depending on your luck, they may or may not accept to do this. You can immediately ask for the status - whether they received it or not.

Hi, I have the same situation at mumbai consulate but after 2 emails they did send me a reply recently that they have updated my records that I need the next available appointement. No appointment yet, after reading your posting I am getting worried. If you could give me your email or phone number we can talk.
