An easy question

Me and my wife have been filing joint returns for the past three years (i.e., ever since we got married). Do we need two separate Sailing permits or will one suffice for both of us? Does she need to accompany me to the IRS office?

Yes!

You need 2 sailing permits and your wife must accompany you to the IRS office. Takes about 10 mins, so its fairly painless as long as you take all the docs mentioned on this site.

This is an optional doc, and AFAIK has rarely (if ever) been required when leaving the country.
