  • successful CP at Mumbai

    Hi Guys,

Had successfull CP today (nov 14th) at Mumbai. Everything completed in 2 hours (including getting visa and other documents).

    Details are as follows :

    1. 1030 hrs - Appointment time - paid visa processing fees at counter 14

    2. 1040 hrs - called by Indian guy,who collected documents.(counter 10).
This guy was very friendly, and was jokin with us through out the process.
    3. 1133 hrs - called at counter 9, where 2 questions asked by american guy,(when U first came to US and who is your employer). He asked us to pay visa issuance fee and wait for 45 minutes. He then cancelled out H-1b visa immediately.

    4. 1140 hrs - paid visa issuance fee at counter 14 again

    5. 1220 hrs - called at counter 10 and given all documents, passport and visa.

Meanwhile, at about 10.45 there was a general anouncement that the computer system has crashed, and visa will be issud only next day even though everything will be completed today. So it really surprised me when They gave me visa at 1220 hrs.

The only documents asked from me were

    1. OF 230 part I (use form sent by Consulate) (me & wife)
    2. OF 230 part II (use form sent by Consulate) (me & wife)
    3. BC (photocopy)(me & wife)
    4. marriage certificate (2 photocopies)
    5. Affadavit of support (original).
    6. 3 photos for each applicant

The Indian guy did not even take my bank statement, as we informed that my wife was working and he said that it was self evident.

Also do not worry about name of spouse on passport. As long as you have valid marriage certificzte it does not matter. Infact they asked me if I want to change my wife's name in GC to reflect our marriage as we had not changed her name after marriage.

Bottom Line : EB candidates get royal treatement. FB visa persons are asked lot of questions.

I will bw returning back to US on 20th. But I may check my email once before comming. Feel free to ask me any questoins in this regard.

This forum really helped me. Best of luck to all.

    THANKS IMMIHELP!!!!

        interview questions

vf peter and other successful Cpers:

is it normal that they ask questions only to primary applicant and not secondary applicant?

        also are you in Eb-2?

        thanks and congrats

            Mumbai CP

Sorry @ not mentioningi that. but they also require medical documents given by the hospital.

BTW, I took all my shots in Mumbai.
