  • Need help, case not reached NVC after 90 days from

My I-140 petition approved on 8/7/00 with consular processing option. It has passed 90 days from the approval date, still file not reached NVC. NVC in the process of sending a letter which describes that NVC did not receive the case. Could you please let me know how to get the higher officials attention at VSC using this letter? Since, it got delayed a lot, I would like to make it as fast as possible at this stage.

    I appreciate you help.

I have seen many folks here complain that the I-140 has not reached the NVC. I have been burnt by the same problem, so hopefully my case can help you.

I received my I-140 on August 16th. I waited till september 15th to see if my application had reached NVC. My colleagues I-140 had reached NVC already and we were approved around the same time.

I took a good and hard look at my I-140 approval notice. It clearly did not mention that the petition was forwarded to NVC while my friends did. The I-140, if its approved for consular processing will mention the consulate in the "Notice Type: Approval notice" box just below your name.
Mine did not. So that explained why my case had not reached NVC. It will also mention that all INS action on the case is over.

While yours might not be the same issue, I suggest you look at your I-140 and see if its mentioned that the case has been forwarded to NVC. If it has been ...

Mine took a long time to be corrected. I just received my corrected I-140 and I am hoping it will take the average 6 weeks period.

If thats not the case hopefully the "somebody" who helps you can also help me. :-)

    Cheers and All the Best.

      Hi suddenjim,

      Thank you for your reply.
My approval notice has below information.

      1) In the NoticeType box (which is right below the Beneficiary Name), there is no consulate name.

      2) However, In the Big Box, it clearly siad that the case is sent to "Department of State National Visa Center (NVC) 32 Rochester Avenue, Portsmouth, NH 03801-2909". etc
      And aslo said that,
"This completes all INS actions on this petition."

Does it mean that is approved with CP option?

      Thanks,
      -SKorandla

        Hello skorandla,

I haven't the foggiest idea. I rechecked my corrected I-140 and it does mention the consulate. I hope somebody in the know will reply.

        Thanks.

My Case too has not reached NVC my approval date is Sep 20, 2000 by NSC. I have noticed that most cases with approval date in the vicinity of Sept 20's from NSC have reached NVC. Since i think it is going to be a difficult task contacting NSC and following up and there might be considerable delays i am preparing to file 485.

                CSC case not reached NVC?

                Hi Skorandla,

My case approved by CSC on 07/25/00. Still not reached to NVC.
Did you get any replay by fax from INS?
                Did your file reached NVC?
                Thanks in advance.
