Hi Everybody,
I had a successful CP experience in Delhi on November 06,00. The details of my case are as under:
PD: July 99
I-140 ND: November 99
I-140 Approval Date: July 00
NVC sent Packet III: August 08,00
Packet III received by New Delhi: August 24,00
Packet IV received from New Delhi: October 10,00
Medical Experience:
We got our medical done at Dr. KP Jain in South Extension. The whole process took less than 2 hours and we were asked to come the next day to collect the results. Cost of the medical test was Rs. 1200 each. One passport size photograph and your passport is required to be carried on the day of the medical test.
Photographs:
The photographs were got at Kumar Studio in South Extension.
The shop person new what we needed and asked us to come to collect the photographs the next day.
Interview:
On the interview day we went at the appointed time 8.00 AM. There were about 25 people for the immigrant visa. Most of them were family based. 3 couples on that day were employment based. We were asked to sign the Packet IV and then an American Lady came and asked us to take the oath. We were also asked to submit our drafts at another counter. Then we had to wait for about 2 hour before our name was called. The lady took the following documents:
Completed Packet III
Completed Packet IV
Photographs
Employment Letter
Birth Certificate
Marriage Certificate
Results of the Medical Test
No questions were asked by her about the case. Our H-1B visa was cancelled by the Indian lady with the comments " Cancelled without prejudice". We were asked to come at 4.00 PM in the evening to collect the immigrant visa. We had to wait about 1.5 hours before the visa was given to us. You should check the visa to make sure that all details mentioned on the visa are right and accurate.
POE:
We entered at Washington Dulles Airport and stood in the regular lines for NON-US citizens. When our turn came we were asked to go to a designated room for processing the Green Card Application. It took about 15 minutes for the lady in that room to take finger prints and complete the paper work and she placed the stamp on the passport. She asked for an additional immigration style photograph. For the persons who didn't have one, she had a camera to take one. Advise get a few additional immigration style photographs. She gave a paper saying that the actual card would be received in 8 to 10 months but I understand that one receives the actual card in 2 to 3 months.
Overall, the experience was a very pleasant one.Good luck to all on this board.CP is the way to go if you have the paper work in order.
Let me know if I can answer any questions.
