Spouse's name in passport???

Hi,
Does anybody know that is it must to have spouses's name in the passport entered. I got the marriage certificate though. Please share if you know.

yes it is REQUIRED to have the spouse's name included in the passport. You can get it done from the passport office (in india) or in the embassy/consulate (here) by giving marriage certificate copy and your passport copy.

Balas: do u mean wife's passport should have husband's name and husband's passport should have wife's name? Which page of the passport do they enter this information. This is different from changing wife's last name, right?

What i meant was Husband's name in wife's passport is required if one has not changed the passport to married name .. i think that is what takeitez asked.

Hi,
Once you change wife's name from maiden name to married name then you would also have added husband's name.

But if you haven't changed wife's name in her passport then one can add the husband's name in her passport. At the back on last page, there is item "Name of Spouse".

I came to know that its OK even if you got marriage certificate and so no need to add the names. Hope this helps.
