Expired H1/H4, leaving for CP Interview in Mumbai

My H1 and wife's H4 expired last month. Company had filed extensions before the expiry date and they have said we are in status as it was filed before expiry. Is it true?

My wife is leaving now and i will be leaving soon for CP Interview in Mumbai.

Question is - Does my wife need to carry her H4 extension receipt with her, Just for flying to India, to avoid any issue at the airport??

Im planning to take H1/H4 ext receipts, as proof of status for interview, when available.
Pls help!

Yes you should.

They will ask you to prove that you have always maintained legal status in the US

Hi nirajjjjj,

I guess I read somewhere that if you leave US before approval of extension, you will be considered out of status from the day when I-94 expired. I dont think any receipt notice will make any difference. Pls consult a lawer before you leave.
