Help Please : Tax Returns copies vs transcripts

Hello,

I have got transcripts from INS (1-800 #), will this suffice for the Consular Processing Interview?
Or do I need to get the tax return copies?

I have a problem because I have tax returns for 2 years but one is missing! I phoned H&R Block but they said they don't maitain this information.

I have a question thought, when you said Tax Returns are you talking about the copy of 1040 or 1040 NR which ever we filed it to IRS each year or is it something different.

What do you mean by transcript? can some one explain.

I have been here for '2 and half' years only.., i have paid all the taxes(for 1999 and 2000) but didn't have a copy of my tax-return form..

Is it OK to take a certificate from local IRS office
OR is it a must to have all tax-returns(receipts).

Can you give more info about how to get transcripts..

This is what I have heard:

"transcripts are the papers that IRS sends when you ask for them on the 800 number. They are for last 3 years usually.
Copies are your own filing copy which you should have done before mailing the 1040 out or sending it electronically. "

To get the phone #, call 411 and ask for the 800# for the IRS.
