Cairo Embassy

My husband had his interview on November 21st, 2006 in Cairo. He's passed his Department of State clearances on February 1st and his k3 papers have been sent back to Cairo. Sent an email to Cairo to see what the next steps are and approximately how long that will take and received a canned email that says we'll contact you when we are done. Has anyone gone through the Cairo Embassy and do you know how long it takes for them to complete their work after the DOS has approved it?
