    Folks!

I quote below my posting of 9/26/2000 on this Forum. Please go to the posting for very good inputs and dialog between myself and Immihelp and RockStar123!!

    I-864 v/s I-134
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
About the I-864, I have considerable anxiety about this form v/s the I-134! This web-site says at one point that "I-864 Affidavit of Support.... This form will be sent ONLY FOR Family Based Immigration and NOT for Employment Based Immigration. For married applicants(employment based), Form I-134 (Affidavit of Support) should be submitted at the time of interview."

So for my Packet 3, should I enclose the I-864 or should I enclose the I-134, or should I carry a copy of each to the Consulate when I fly out? Wouldn't want to carry the whole world and drag it in front of the US Consulate gates!!

Somebody who can shed more light on this one!!

Well, today, I have received Packet III from the NVC at home, and there is a blank Form I-864 in it, with the Instructions that this Form has to be filled up and carried with all support dox to the Consulate.

Read Again:- I got this Packet from the NVC.

Listen, I told you earlier multiple times that you are free to believe whomever you want to believe.

ONLY I-134 form is required for employment based applicants, even though NVC sent you I-864.

So if you wish, carry only I-864 to the consulate and when you come back, please post your experience. We would be all very eager to hear from you.

There is no point unnecessarily debating on this forum on this issue. Only time experience will tell you the real truth, my friend.

      SkyClipper:

Please try to understand that none of us on this (or any other) board are *experts*. In most cases we are either in the process of, or have just completed the process of, doing our own CPs.

Debating an issue ad-infinitum is rather counterproductive as no one here is stating that their version of the truth is absolute.

All that is said here is implicitly qualified with "As Far As I Know - and God, INS and DoS permitting..."

As immihelp says: if you submit the 864, and they accept it, then please do us all a favor and update our knowledge base when you return successfully.

Good luck on your CP odyssey.
