I need suggestion on the following:
I have an approved I-140 and applied for AOS in August 2000 at the Vermont Service Center. I wanted to do Attorney Certifed CP in Chennai and was informed that Chennai does not encourge AC-140. The reason I wanted Ac-140 is that my H-1 expired in Aug 2000 (6 years).
My questions are:
1. With the expired H-1, can I take a change and submit I-824 for CP?
2. Techinically, I am not out of status since I applied for AOS in US on the day of expiration of my H-1. But will this affect me if I go to Chennai for CP interview?
3. I have been reading about the CP process in Mexico. Will the US embassy entertain AC-140 for an Indian Citizen?
Your thoughts and suggestions will be appreciated.
