  • Good news!!!!! CP in Juarez

    here follows a transcript of my e-mail with the ciudad Juarez consulate

    **** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** ****

    We will accept the case only if you can supply ALL of the following
    items:

    -- Receipt for the I-824 to demonstrate you have requested overseas

    -- Original I-797 Notice of Approval of the I-140 petition;

    -- Copy of the I-140 petition ( a certified copy is not necessary);

    --You need both the I-485 and the I-824.

    --The medical exam is required from here only. The one from the U.S is not
    valid.

    You will also need to submit a packet #3 so we can start the security
    clearance process. The packet #3 can be downloaded from the State
    Department
    web-site (Ciudad Juarez link). You can mail the information to U.S.
    Consulate General, P.O. Box 10545, El Paso, TX 79995. Once all the
    information is received and clearances are done you will be scheduled
    for an
    appointment. The total amount of waiting time from receipt of all these
    documents may be from 3 to 5 months.

    thought I will share it with you. Still do u think Ciudad juarez is worth it. it will cost a lot more...fees for Cp as well as I 485..but cheaper than going to India or china?????
    share your thoughts guys...it cant get any more official than this right?????

    thanks

    Hi,
    I too got a response from CDJ post. They did not mention anything about I-485 had to be filed. The Dept Of State notice says Only I-140 should be originally approved for Adjustment of Status and subsequently I-824 be filed. That memorandam does not talk anything about actually applying I-485.
    Thanks, Ravi

      Re: CJ-CP.

      I also got a reply from Cuidad Juarez Consulate, and they dont seem to ask for 485. They ask only for 140, and 824. I am curious why they said they wanted 485 to
      snayak.

        reply

        see in the first mail they send you , they dont specify anything..they didnt to me either, but when you resend an e-mail asking them whether you have to file for i485 they reply in the affirmative. The transcript I posted was a result of 3 mails that they replied to me. The third mail was concerning the medical exam whether the US exam is valid or not.

        I read the memo posted on **** , the memo doesnt even say that you need to be current to file for CP in a non-discretionary case !! i guess we can just take it for granted! cuz the pos t will simply not accept your ca se . Al so non-dis cretionary ca se s soun d intere sting...(My keyboard i s **** ked up...it make s a space appear before every "s " letter)

        this means that if u can prove your re sidence in Mumbai...they will t ake up your CP ca se without waiting for I 82 4 to be approved ju st with a receipt!....immihelp, plea se correct me on thi s one.

        i will appreciate any comment s anyone ha s on thi s i s sue

        thank s

          Re: reply

          That web site has right to say loudly that it has no relation with immihelp but has NO right to make any comments about contents of our web site. And I have regularly seen many negative comments about immihelp.com which is totally unprofessional and unethical.

          This stuff was started by them. Hence I don't want to anyone to mention that web site here. I don't have any problems with any other web sites as long as they don't do the same thing.

          I agree with the freedom thing you are talking about. But that freedom ends when the other concerns person's right starts. I hope you understand what I mean. (e.g., I have freedom to listen to radio as long as I don't distub the neighbors because when the my radio is loud my neighbors's right to privacy/not getting disturbed is violated.)
