  • CP from Sydney, Australia

    Hello! All,

Sorry for sending this message again, as the CP section was archived I thought of re-posting my question.

Has anyone has any experiences of doing CP from Sydney?? Is there a offical US immigration site that could give that info. ( I already checked the US embasy page in Australia). If some one has personal experiences of doing their CP @ Sydney consulate (like I see many folks talking about a lot of US consultes in India) that could be the best. Appreciate any response.

    Thanks.

Unfortunately not at this time. My case has been assigned to Sydney and I am waiting for my packet 3.

I have requested the finger print search police report and it takes 3 weeks.

    What is your situation?

Thanks a lot hello2000!!! Good to know that someone is doing CP from Sydney. Though I am still in my I 140 approval stage - the fact that I had not seen anyone talking about anything else other than Mumbai/Cheennai consulates made me a little concerned about the situation.

Could you tell me how much time have elasped between your I 140 approval and NOW?? Just to get a idea about the time factor.

Also I did not follow --

"I have requested the finger print search police report .."

please could you elaborate on that too. Especially from where have you requested that information and for what purpose?? FYI I live in Melbourne.

      Thanks.

        Sydney

I believe you lived in Australia more than 6 months so you could do your CP in Australia.

If you lived in Australia more than 6 months, you need a police report from Australia. The finger print search police report serves as a national police clearance except WA. WA is different as all other states. Contact your state's police headquarter for the procedure. I am doing mine in Vic.

It took 9 days for I-140 to be transfered to NVC. I am still waiting for packet 3 from NVC.

          police report

sorry, I read your message too quick and did not realize you are from melbourne too.

I checked the victoria police web site and find their number called. I was given another number and reach the finger print visa office(?), whatever, they sent me two forms(for my wife and me). I fill the form, attached $103 for each person, get the finger print done at local police station and EMS to them. Unfortunately, US post office sucks. The EMS took 10 days, and they have no clue what happened. I have to call Australia POST to trace the EMS and Australia POST contract the EMS to another company, ...! The form only can be sent to a PO BOX, Fedex does not deliver to PO Box, not much choice.

I can not remember the phone number anymore, you can check out from their web site.
