  • applying to Mexico for CP

Do we need an I 485 receipt notice to file an application for Cp to Mexico? else how to establish that I 485 is pending? if I 140 was approved for AOS is that enough?

How to submit the application to Mexico? Send in packet 3 right away? or send in the Documents( I 140, I 824 receipt notice ) and wait for them to send you Packet 3? I Didnt see any answers to my earlier message. I wish someone knew and If so please reply to my message. i will appreciate any advice

    Thanks

    applying to Mexico for CP

Since this is a comparatively new topic, not many of us are sure of how things work out. No where does it mention that you have to send your I485 copy, but there is no harm in doing that. Also, have not seen anywhere regarding Pkt. 3 information etc. I think your attorney will be the best person to answer this.

But I have a question. Though I-140 has been approved for CP but file has still not reached NVC, can we now file for 485 and then do CP in Mexico? Just a thought! Any opinions?

    Thanks

      Hi
Thanks at least for telling that a lot of people do not know much about this issue. It is reassuring. I am new to immigration itself and most of our work is handled by our lawyer but after the I 140 was approved i wanted to do some of my own research and stumbled upon the mexico news which was quite stunning to say the least.

Would like to make a sound choice before leaping into this AOS or CP thing. I bet not even lawyers are prepared to answer most questions on this issue at this time. Yet I hope most people in this board will consider doing some of their own research and sharing whatever important relevant info they gather.

Do u think the consulate in mexico will be better off replying to most queries? Is it a good idea to get in touch with them and take their word for what they say? that should be the most reliable right?

      Cheers

Got information from my lawyer on this issue:-

After a day of reviewing, the Lawyer Office has informed me that this "News is not Official yet" and has advised me against it.

The above for reference of all readers. I am taking my Lawyers' advice. :\
