  • Packet 3

    Hi everybody,

I have just filed the I-824 (which is signed by my employer). When this gets approved and is sent to the NVC and NVC creates a case, can I download Packet 3 forms, fill them up and sent them to the consulate or do I have to wait for the NVC to send Pkt. 3 to my lawyer (which could take a couple of weeks going by what I read here)?

    Thanks.

    considered AC-140?

If you are Mumbai, you may want to consider AC-140, instead of waiting for I-824 to complete.

      Re: considered AC-140?

Yupp!! That is what I am going to aim for !! AC-140 ! But I hear that your I-824 should NOT be approved. If it gets approved then, you have to go thru' the normal process of I-140 with I-824 approval .. thru' NVC .. then to your home consulate !

        824

        Hi Ace,
This is what happened with me. I was thinking of bypassing NVC loop. But it did not help. If you are in EB2 and PD is current, then of course you would be in better position to go for AC-140.

But to answer your question, as soon as NVC sends the case information to Mumbai, you can download the forms and send it to consulate. Atleast you would save some 5/6 days but not more than that.

Note: NVC sends the case *** to consulate when they send Packet III to you

        Thanks

        Meenu

          Re: 824

Actually, I am in EB3 with a PD of Feb 99. I have not yet filed I-824. I plan to do that when my PD is very close to becoming current. The reasoning behind this is that the moment I get my I-824 receipt, I can immediately file for AC-140 BEFORE I get the actual I-824 approval. Of course, if by some quirk, NSC moves at lightning speed, then I HAVE to go thru' the NVC loop !!
