qs about CP interview.....just recd appt for April

Hi everyone...

Before any Qs, I want to thank everyone on this board for the tons of valuable info/experiences. I can tell you for sure that my lawyer is a complete idiot and if I didn't have this board I would be in the dark for another couple of years....Keep it up guys...

Now to my question....
I just recd the appt letter (actually my Dad picked it up from the Mumbai consulate and faxed me a copy).
I am trying to figure out which docs should my wife and I carry for the interview...The consular processing section of this msg board immihelp.com has an exhaustive list of documents with the caveat that one shd carry as much as one can. The appt letter is however only asking for the foll. items:
BTW I am in the E2 category, employment based.

The Appt letter
Passport
Police Certificate
Birth certificate
Court and Prison records
Color photographs (3 for each person)
Marriage certificate
OF 230 Part I and II
Emplyment letter

They also sent me Form 9003

How much should I really stress for the other documentation mentioned in the consular processing section.
I looked through the msg board for recent experiences that people have had on the kind of documentation asked during the interview, but without much luck.

I will also be going for an April interview in Bombai. I am defintiely carrying I-134 and the Sailing Permit. I know the other docs. are not that important, but there is no harm in carrying it. I'm going to take how much I can to be on the safe side.

Hi guys,
I am going to Delhi consulate for 20th April interview. I also don't know whether to trust lawyer on this. He is saying that we don't need to take sailing permit to Delhi consulate. It is not asked as you will be carrying tax returns docs.

Any comments?

Sailing Permit

In my interview I was asked for my tax returns.... not the sailing permit. Did not take one.

But if you look at the logic of sailing permit, you will not need one. My understanding is that the sailing permit is actually getting a permission to leave the land, that you have paid all your dues. Now if your visa is rejected, then they should ask for a sailing permit, to make sure you have paid your dues. But then, at that point, do you care?

My interview is on April 24th.I have received appointment
letter but it does not mention what documents I should
get for the interview.
SG1224 has mentioned a list of documents which they
ask for the interview.Do they give Appointment letters
in different format to different people.

Sorry to bother you - hope you resolve my problem.
My appintment for April is posted on the Mumbai website But I do not have a letter from them yet. I am awaiting their response to my email.

I want my lawyer to keep the OF 230-I and 230-II ready for me, however the approved OMB number (on top right) of the copy of these forms that my lawyer has, mentions an expiration date of 3-31-2001.

Would it possible for you to check the ones you have recvd from Mumbai to see if they are any different.

This will be vey helpful as I would not have to go to India and do some last minute running around for getting it typed in Mumbai.
