Packet 4, how is it sent by chennai consulate?

Guys,

Can any one tell me through which route P4 is sent by the Chennai consulate to Indian addresses: normal mail, registered post or courier?
The reason I am asking this is that my parents might not be at home for a week or so in the next couple of weeks.
