  • Qn. for Jeffsobe on CP in Montreal

    Hello Jeffsobe
I know you did your CP in Montreal. I will be going there in
April and I want some help.

    1. Which doctor you went to?. I am from Ottawa and did you go to the Doctor in Montreal for your Medicals. How much was the cost?. I don't have any record of immunization and I was wondering whether I will be exempted from some of the vaccinations. Can you post your experience?

    2. What about the photographs?. Did you take them from here in the US or from somewhere in Montreal?.

I will appreciate if you could post these information here. Thanks for the help

-I went to MDS Executive Health Center on Sherbrooke Street (the address and phone number will be listed in the packet IV you will receive). It went very smoothly, they check your reflexes, draw blood and do a chest Xray. You pick up the results 2 days later in a sealed envelop. I had my record of immunization pulled from the department of health services. If you were born and raised in Ottawa there is certainly a way for you to obtain that record (it is a small booklet). I also had my PCP here in USA give me the immunizations I was missing (tet****). When you call the clinic to make your appointment, re-confirm with them which vaccines they require b/c they don't require everything that is on the list given by INS.

-I had my pictures taken here in USA. I went to a photo shop near the INS building in the city I live in so I was sure that it was something they were used to deal with and it was inexpensive. Get at least 6 pictures. When I got to Dorval, the agent was very insistant on getting 2 identical pictures.

If your case is simple, you will see that the whole process at the US consulate in Montreal is very simple and quick. I was in the cosulate for about 40 minutes total and I walked out with the sealed envelop to bring to the POE. It was very short and solemn and the consulate employees I dealt with were all very professional and to the point.

    Good luck - Jeff
