  • Birth Certficate ...Help !!!

I do not have my birth certificate. What should I do?
What is the procedure for getting a non availability certificate? Which government agency can give such a certificate? Has anybody got such a certificate? Can anyone please share his/her experience with getting this non availability certificate?
I don't know who and how to approach in India?

    BC

You may get a BC from Registrar of Birth and Deaths by submitting an affidavit. Your parents can submit this and can get a birth certificate. It is like a late registration for birth. I got for my wife like that.

Only problem is that it has to be from the same place that is marked on your passport as place of birth.

Is it ok for me to get a Non-Availibilty Certificate for birth even if I was born after 1969 ? Ofcourse, I will be having 2 affidavits(from parents and elder relatives) too.

Does'nt the INS/State Dept recognise that BC were not required to be registered before 1969/1970.
I think they would accept secondary evidence in this case.
