a question on CP!

Can any one please tell me if the PD needs to be current for CP?

In order for you to get an interview, yes it needs to be current. But if going through NVC, if they determine that your PD is "about" to becoming current then they will process your Pkt.3 and send it to the consulate. But consulate will wait for PD to become current to give you an interview date.
