Getting married..timing of Pkt 3

Hi guyz,

Can we add spouse's name during packet 4, or can it only be done before we send packet 3. I am planning to get married only at the end of this year, and did not know if it is a good idea to hold off on packet 2 till then? Also, since my priority date is not current, does it make any difference sending packet 2 now to chennai?

From what I have read so far, you can even get
married after you do the consulate interview
but before returning to the US.

I am afraid you will have to search thru all the
previous messages to find out the details.

If your priority date is not current then you cannot send packet 3 anyway.

You can get married after the Consulate interview but before you enter USA.
However, The best thing is to get married before you submit packet 3.

Getting married..timing of Pkt 3

1. Ideal is to get married before sending P3, if thats not possible.

2. Get married before the Interview & try to request a interview together. if that's not possible.

3. Otheriwse marry after you interview but before you re-enter the US ( You have to send you marrieg certificate to the consulate and they schedule a seperate interview for your wife -- You have to hand around outside till its done I presume).

4. If you have missed that too then you option of being generous to you wife with a Green Card in reasonable time run out ( File under the famil category and wait few years)
