Spouse on CP while I am on AOS

Hello gurus,
I have submitted my I485 and have done finger printing. I am getting married soon, but my wife will not be able to join me here immediately. So I would like to include her name in my I485 application as a follow on. Since she is not able to join me here, can I follow the CP route for her, while I go through the AOS route.
I appreciate any help,
