It is required to get police certificates if you have stayed at least six months and was at least 16 years old.
Japan is one country you need to get police certificates from.
take a look at INS form 169 and DSL-1083. -
May not need..check immihelp
You may not have to go for PCC if you have stayed somewhere in the PAST for less than a year. Please check Immihelp site for detailed info. You need PCC in either of the following cases:
1. Currently staying out of USA for > 6 months
2. Stayed somewhere else for > 1 year .
