police certificates for interview

this has probably been asked before, but I lived in India and the US only. My CP is in chennai(waiting on an interview date).

My atoorney tells me I dont need police certs from the US, and neither from India. Is that true? SO, I dont have to produce any cop certs at all? I guess all I need is the birth cert, medical from the local doctor, education and visa history?

Anybody know? Thanks in advance..
