Is Date of Birth certificate required for CP...

If I am applying CP, when should I have my Date of Birth certificate ?
1. Should I submit DOB certificate at the time of interview ?. If so it is easy, when we go to India we can get this done.
2. Or should we submit it at the time we are sending papers for CP.

You need this birth certificate when you go for the interview but you have to mention on the OF-169 form (Part of Pkt III)that you have birth certificate available with you and ready to show the same(Proof) at the time of interview. The consulate people invariably ask everyone to show the birth certificate and give thema copy of that. But they need to check withthe original.
