  • Interview in Ciudad Juarez please help!

Need advice!!! I am an illegal immigrant living in the US. My parents brought me in to the U.S. illegally at the age of 6. We were never caught by immigration officers. I am now 25 and a recent graduate with a bachelors degree in business. I am also married to my husband who is a U.S. citizen. We have been married for two years. We want to legalize my status and are now in the process of filling form (I-864)Affidavit of Support. We do not want to send it in because my interview will be in ciudad Juarez and I might be punished for entering the U.S illegally and have to stay in Mexico for 3-10 years.

My questions is: Is there anyting that can be done to adjust my status so that I don't have to have my interview there? Or, if we proceede with the filling will I be pardoned for entering illegally and return to the US as soon as possible?

Any advice will help tremendously. Thank you all in advance!

i hope this helps, even though this is not what you want to hear ! from what i have learned, you will be kept in mexico after your interview for being in the us illegally. we had another guy with the same issue as yours, and he was sent back to mexico after being in the us since he was almost a baby ! but after your interview there is what they call the "hardship letter". your petitioner(spouse) will have to write a letter proving why he can't live in mexico and why he can't live without you here in the us. he will have to prove "extreme hardship", meaning use evidence of illness, debt, etc..after the interview yuo can set up an other appointment to turn in this letter and they will look at it on the spot and decide whether you are "clearly approvable" that day, or you will pbe put in the backlog. they put you in the backlog so they can review your letter more, and it has been taking up to a year to get a response to the letters in the backlog.so plan on spending some time in mexico ! i am going through this also, so if you have anymore questions feel free to write me
