Name change..

Hi folks,

I am on an L1 VISA (lucky, I guess) and I got my I-140 approved (approval dt 01/10/01) and I had mentioned CP option in my I-140. Had couple of questions:

1> My wife's passport still has her maiden name (middle initial). Is it fine if I change it now or would it complicate matters? would I have to notify anyone of the name change esp at my stage - I140 approved but NVC yet to receive my case?
2> I browsed thru this forum and immihelp site but was confused on I-824 requirements - Do I have to file I-824 even if I had specified CP in my I140 application?
3> I was on H1 initially, but since it was the same co. here & in India, I got converted to L1. Does this matter during interview?
4> Also, My co. missed out adding my wife's name for H4-L2 conversion and so she still awaits her L2 approval (Filed may 05,2000 - expected march/apr) which may come after interview. To complicate further, my H1 so her H4 expired in Aug 2000 - she is out of status (lawyer says as long as L2 application has been filed and my L1 statu is good this should not be a problem). Would like to know if I have a problem at hand.

Would appreciate any help/advice and suggestions on these.

L1 man,

I can answer only to Q2 with certainity that if CP was chosen in your I140, then you are set. You do not need I824. I824 is only for those who chose AOS to start with and later want to change to CP.
