Have CP Appt. & recvd. mail regarding AOS intrv..!

Have a strange situation. I have AC-140 CP appointment for Jan 30th at Mumbai. But, I just got letter from INS, Los Angeles asking me to show up for an AOS interview along with all the documents for Feb 23rd at Los Angeles.
My attorney suggests that I attend the interview here locally in Los Angeles so that I will be able to provide additional documentation if asked for. To add another twist to this, it is more than 180 days since I was fingerprinted.
The situation seems pretty strange. Any comments or suggestions as to what to do...should I go ahead with AC-140 CP or do the AOS interview here ?

Sorry, this is not an answer to your question, but a question for you. Hope you take the time to reply.

I think you had requested a postponement of your CP interview, right?

If yes, how did you request it - by email/fax/any other means? And did you have any trouble getting a new interview date.

I am trying to postpone my interview date (my interview date is already past and I am trying to get a new one) and I am facing problems of getting thru, such as them claiming that they do not have the email/fax I sent etc.

Please let me know.

Postponing interview date

Hi,
Based on what I've heard, I was a fortunate with regards to postponement of interview date. I sent an email ( in August, 2000 ) requesting a postponement by six months. I got a prompt reply saying that they'll postpone it to Jan. And they did. I sent no reminders to them and I noticed my new appointment date for Jan 30, 2001 in the appointments list. Am not sure if I am good example for postponement based on reading others' experience.
FYI...I did not give any reason to request for postponement because I figured they would care less.
Try email, fax, personal delivery (by a friend obviously) of letter requesting postponement.
