original I140 approval?

I'm planning to change from AoS to AC140 and I was told by my consulate that they need the original approval notice [I797] of I140. However, that has been filed with I485.

What other documents can we use in lieu of original I797.

First, you should not have sent original I-140 approval with I-485.

Now that you have done it, employer would have got one more copy of I-140 approval (original). Ask them to give it to lawyer and send it.

Unfortunately, all my immigration paperwork is handled by the company lawyer and we've no control whatsoever. Hopefully, my company should have the courtesy copy.

BTW, is that the only documentation allowed in this regard? Do they entertain the approval notice in other forms, such as notarized copies, etc ...

Yes, you need original I-140 approval.
