Hello guys , my first post here .
I am a 35 y.o man from italy . I got my employement based petition approved and also form I-230 has already been filed . From my father's same experience I know it won't take too long before I will be called for the interview at the US Consulate in Naples,Italy in order to get the immigration visa .
I am worried about one thing and I would like somebody to give me an advice .
on april 24th , 2005 I applied for a B1 visa at the US consulate in Rome . I was fingerprinted and interviewed . The visa was denied under INA 221g because there was a petition pending so it was obvious I could'nt demonstrate the will to come back to Italy .
That petition I was waiting to be approved was a family based sponsorship but after that date I got married so I went "out of category" because I was over 21 years of age MARRIED son of an US resident ( my mother ) .
Nothing wrong here . The B1 Visa was denied without prejudice . Also I got no stamp at all on my passport . Only a receipt on a paper sheet in english and italian explaining why the B1 visa was denied .
Then I had a job opportunity in US and the emplyer sponsored me so I got this employement based petition approved .
My fear is : of course I have to say the truth when they will ask me if I ever got a visa denied and why BUT does anybody know if a B1 visa denied can be an obstacle to obtaining this long awaited immigration visa ?
