Hi,
My girlfriend and I are getting married in the united states in January then she will be returning to her country to finish her university. We are choosing to do the consular processing since she won't be able to remain in the united states. I am a little confused about the procedures to follow. from what I understand I must file the i-130 form here in the united states. They will approve that and start the consular processing procedures. I fill out the i-864 but what is the DS-3032. do we need an agent or attorney?? then the packets are mailed and filled out and she has the interview. assuming it is approved, does she receive a green card?? or do we then need to apply for adjustment of status. She plans on coming here in march 2009. does that seem like a reasonable amount of time for all of this to be processed if we file in January 2008. thank you!!!!!!
