IV processing at Dhaka.

Upon filing of petition by my son (US Citizen) & completion of fomalities for immigration visa (Immediate relative), I appeared before the US Embassy Dhaka on 18.11.07 for an interview. Although the Officer was satisfied with my papers, issued a blue Sheet (221g) mentioning "Additional processing. we will contact you as soon as we receive the result"

The Embassy contacted me over phone on 23.01.08. & asked me to submit my passport with the blue sheet, which I did.They again phoned me on 06.02.08. to collect my passport & IV. I have collected IV today.

The Embassy officials were co-operative.
221(g) is therefore not always a refusal.

Hi there, I am in the same situation. The US Embassy returned my passport and they said they will call me back.. it over two months now...
Have you got your visa yet?

IV at Dhaka.

Yes,
US Embassy Dhaka issued my Visa on 31st January 08 with validity upto 30 th July 08.
I do hope you will soon get call from the Embassy.

Please Help !

While I was passing my every single second in frustration, suddenly I found an online forum with a hope I might get help from you guys.

I had an Interview at US Embassy, Dhaka on 6th March 2012. My wife applied for me from US. She was residing in there...

At the Interview,

First, one of the ladies took my fingerprint she gave me back my original Birth certificate. and also give me a pink page written "all civil original document" staple with a visa size picture what i my wife submitted to NVC, and ask me to keep it.and also they kept my passport and Two passport size pic.

Second, A Male counselor officer took my interview...he didn't even bother to ask my name......he took my oath first and asked me to show my marriage evidence. I showed him our pictures. I had our wedding CD's as well. But he didn't want to see anything else. Then, he hand me a blue sheet reading below:

blue papers written " Additional processing we will contact you as soon as we receive the result "

One more thing, I have got my Embassy interview date through email on 31st January 2012, while my wife got her Citizenship oath & Naturalization Certificate on 9th February 2012. So, my interview date scheduled by her Greencard not by citizenship. does it matter?

My wife got DV in 2006, we got married in 2009.

I guess, someone must thru the same situation...... how long it takes to get call from Embassy or can you please give me any idea Please?

After Visa Interview

My wife & myself had Visa Interview (IV-Immigrant) on 5-6 at USA Embassy Dhaka. My wife Got visa on 5-7while I have asked to submit 10 question answer (Officer gave me a paper of Questionnaire of 10 question). I went consular section on 5-7 with the answer sheet which I dropped to drop box. Now my questions are

1) When I can expect to get a response from Embassy?

2) Until I got visa can my wife make her journey?

3) My wise Visa Expiry will Oct-11-2012 but so far I we know it is valid for 6months? It is paste on her passport. with 1year residence permit.

Hope some one face the same experience. So please help me to get knowledge.
