help-delay of u.s embassy

my son was interviewed by the us embassy consul for his IR2 son of a us citizen last may,2008 but he did not bring any picture of me which we didn't know as that was not in the required documents.so the consul told him to send proof of relationship pictures
and we sent it immediately after 5 days on of the staff received it together with his passport.but until now 8 months already but we didn't hear from them.
Why? I know that if he had a picture of me they will immediately send the visa after 3 weeks.because that is normally what they do...but i think its still the same because we sent it thru mail right after a week.can anybody tell me if there is a future for my son to receive his visa or to be denied for no reason at all? just lack of picture which we didn't know that he will have to bring.My husband is a us citizen while i am an immigrant which just renewed my conditional green card.
in all honesty, i am worried and helpless and desperate for what's going on with the embassy.Any comments or opinion on my case?

Have you tried contacting the embassy at all to see if they got the additional information. Try that. Also, did you send pictures of you and your son together, cards, letters, money transfers etc? They usually need those type of things to show proof of relationship too.

thank you for the response and advice.yes,i already did send them and in fact followed it up with a call and fax..but until now no response...why do you think? do you think my son will still get his visa? but for no reason at all ,why should they not release his visa? or are they still doing administrative review for until his aging out? its abeen a long wait ...what do you think is goin on/ do you think if i go see them will they entertain me? thanks again..
