I-485 to CP

Planning to change I-485 to counselar processing. I am planning to go back to India for couple of years, is that possible to change I-485 to CP for this reason? or what else could be the proper reason to keep GC processing alive while out of country for long time.
Please suggest some out of the way reasons also. Also lo-poles, which could be used to stay out of the country while GC process can be continued.

I864 is what needs to be done for changing AOS to CP.

Thanks allot txh1b for your response. But is that possible to stay outside of the country for that long in case of Employement base GC converted to CP? Would it be difficult for answer, why I left the country?
Is there any way, we can keep I-485 alive? I just responded RFE about current employement status. All were good. I know it is un predictable but is that very frequest to get another RFE before priority date current?

Please response. I trust your answers as you took me out of trouble befoe also.
