Hi all
My husband (UKC) and I (USC) have his immigrant visa interview on Wednesday at the US Embassy in London. Because we have been living in the UK for the last few years, I obviously don't have US earnings. We don't own a house and don't have enough assets for me to be his only financial sponsor. As a result, we have a joint sponsor who is one of our close friends who more than meets the requirements.
We have a completed I-864 for us both, as well as pay slips from the joint sponsor, passport, all tax information (1040s and W2's) and a recent email from him outlining our relationship to him.
Can anyone who has had a joint sponsor at their IR-1 interview in London give us any other insight on any other documentation we may need to bring? According to the I-864 instructions, this should be it, but you hear horror stories about them asking for things that they don't tell you to bring!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
