Can a notarized copy of marriage certificate be used in place of an original?

Hello,

I have an IV interview soon in Lagos, NG and the interview requires both original and copy of the marriage certificate to be presented. My original marriage certificate is with my wife in USA and due to risk, we are considering sending the marriage certificate down to Nigeria. Can i use a certified/notarized copy in place of the original to present at interview? I need urgent help please.
