What evidence is needed?

What evidence would parents that are looking to do consular processing via their US citizen daughter need to gather?

I know the basics are birth certificates, passports, marriage certificate, police certificate.

I talked to a lawyer once about this and he mentioned evidence that shows the parents have supported the US citizen daughter. Would that be necessary? What other documents should they send?
