The USCIS filed at/submited/approved dates are all irrelevant at this stage. What matters is the DQ date (when NVC said that your documents were "documentarily qualified"). Check out the tracker at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...MCg/edit#gid=0
I never had an idea so far about this tracker as I am a newbie. Reviewed the tracker and it appears that generally, interview dates are almost a year after the DQ date.

Unfortunately,I will have to undergo 3 samples of Sputum test early morning, consecutive days.( started from today) Result will be out on 16th Aug.They consider such cases,& if result is negative, the interview slot will be given within a month or earlier. My hubby will give the interview on 20th July.I was down yesterday due to the 4 vaccines.Hope to complete all this & fly to USA asap. So,everything delayed by one to one & half months for me!!!

Hi, Do you plan to reschedule the interview date for your hubby so that you can both get interviewed at the same time? If so, are you aware of the procedure for the same?

really sorry to hear that you have to undergo sputum test. We pray to God, that your test would come out negative. You have taken a right decision that your husband will go ahead with the interview. Best wishes to you two.

However, if you look up the visa status check on CEAC [ https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTrack...us.aspx?App=IV ] around 7-10 days after the medical test is completed, the sputum test-required case IDs come up with 'Refused' as the status, while the one with medical cleared comes up as 'Ready'.

I do not think the NVC sends any e-mail regarding the cancellation - our medical test was on May 31st, and there have been no e-mails from the Mumbai consulate after the initial interview scheduling one. The NVC letter that everyone alludes to is probably just the standard printed sheet that is given to all sputum test-required cases by the hospital (it is with the Mumbai Consulate letterhead, but just given by the hospital advising the interviewee to not come for the scheduled visa interview).

Attended our interview today and we got the approval. The interview was at 7.30 am and was over by 8.30 am. The questions were;
a. Who is sponsoring you?
b. Where does your son live?
c. Where does he work?
d. Have you been to US earlier?
e. When did you visit US the last?
No documents nor any other questions were asked. The guy verifying the documents before the consular officer interview said marriage certificate is must and not having in your case could be an issue which the officer will explain. Turned out to be false since no question about documents.
This forum has been very helpful and informative and thank you for the same.
By the way, they did not give me any details on payment of USD 220 except the guy verifying the documents mentioned it orally. If any one who paid the fee is still continuing to be active on this forum may please provide more info on the payment.
Regards

Sorry to learn about sputum test. Anyway you as a doctor know that your sputum report will be NORMAL. I belive that whatever happens, God has a purpose in it and a better plan. We believe in thanking God for everything because we human do not know what will happen next moment but He knows the entire line of our life. So trust in Him and rest assured that whatever happens is for good. In the meantime I will pray for you.
Even I believe in God & absolutely on lines with yours.Thank you once again

heartiest Congratulations for the successful completion of the process. At the end when the officer tells you that your visa is approved, a printed page is give, which has the heading VISA IS APPROVED. The process of paying up the fee is given on this paper. Somebody in this Forum had posted the copy of that page. You will find if you scroll back a few pages. It is the same paper that is handed to the beneficiary on visa approval.

I have no idea of how the cases for sputum test will progress. All that I can chip in is, that the NVC is now totally out of the picture. As I understand, that once you do not appear for the interview, you will be allowed to reschedule. I am not sure whether the consulate will do it for you. Maybe some one in the forum who has gone through a similar course, can post some advise. This could be very useful for all members of the forum.Best wishes.
