Is Mumbai consulate scheduling interviews for IR5 (Parent of a U.S. citizen)

Hi to all,
my parents interviewed done month back officer approved visa and took passport after one month on July 7 status is AP no 221g given how long more it will take to issue visa ? Any help will be appreciate.

My In laws interview Date June 14,
officer approved visa and took passport June 22 they returned my MIL’s passport without visa. got 221(g )
since July 8 it’s shows still AP (refused)
Hopefully within 15 days you will hear from them.

Current case review time: As of 11-Jul-22, we are reviewing documents submitted to us on 26-Apr-22.
If you submitted before 26 April 22 please contact them .

Dear agupta2k,
pl. check the account on CEAC for messages. If the documents submitted were acceptable and no more evidences were required then with in a spell of 2-3 days they would have sent you a message in CEAC that the documents were accepted. Also in status they would indicate that the case is documentarilly Qualified. Secondly, check whether the fee is paid in full and in its right way. If every thing seems okay and still there is no DQ, then you need to write an email to NVC'.

I am very concerned about my mom's propsects to be able to travel ever again to US. As informed before she was told to go through Sputu from test and currently waitin on the result fro am MAx Delhi. But, as of now I got an emil from Delhi Embassy that her non immigrant visa has been canceled and the status on the current non immigrant visa also shows as refused. Is this normal?

This is very distrubing for me. She is alone in India and as of thi s status she can't travel US ever unless the IR5 visa issue clears up with medical and subsequent appointment.

Yes Toolong,I am waiting for my sputum result.I have been advised to visit the Apollo Hospital on 16th August for the result.I want to know whats the date of your moms last day of sputum submission? I have not got any such letter from Mumbai consulate,I also have 10 years of multiple entry,Tourist US Visa.Keep posting,so the applicants with the sputum problem get updated.I will also keep posting.

If travelling first time on immigration,
1. the india based insurance companies (with international collaboration) give travel insurance maximum for six months. One can take for 3 months assuming that the GC in physical form would arrive by that time. Once you get GC, you can apply for local health insurance in the US.
2. As you are travelling on immigration, you are considered to be migrating from your country to USA for permanent stay. So you are expected to travel one way.

Hi, just wanted to follow up on physical GC card for your parents. Did they receive it yet? I am trying to understand how long it takes to get the card. Also, my understanding is they cannot leave US until they get the physical card, right? Any insight will be helpful.

Sir,

Parents entered San Fransisco international airport USA (SFO, Port of Entry) on April 2022.

After certain inquiries, the immigration officer(at SFO airport), affixed
“Admitted rubber stamp bearing date April 2022” on the visa page of our passport.

1) Received SSN card within one week, at the given US address.

2) On the basis of admitted stamp on visa page of passport, parents can re-enter USA.
There is no need to wait till Green Card((GC), Plastic card) is received.
Check Visa validity.

3) Parents received GC Card(Plastic card) after two months( ie first week of July 2022) .
USCIS dispatched GC to the US address. Follow-up or Inquiries can be raised only after lapse of minimum time.

Sir,

1) Number of options exists. Insurance Agents will explain details.
Suitable policy may be selected based on income(monthly premium) and other information.

2) One way ticket is preferred. After GC is approved, the intention of the immigrant
is to live permanently in USA. If return ticket is taken, a doubt may arise as why
the immigrant shall return to his native or home country.
