I feel the system works that way, they cannot change it.First VAC slot & then Interview.
My advice to all the new members is,get medical first & then VAC,so this problem of attending VAC twice is not there!
I will be going for VAC on 28th August, will let you all know.

Does that certificate mention your maiden surname different from your current surname? If yes, did you provide any self-affidavit/note explaining that so that NVC understands/accepts it refers to the same person (You)? Or, is that unnecessary? I am planning to use my mother's school leaving exam card (with her maiden surname) as one of the supporting documents for NVC submission, so wanted to ask you about this. Thanks.
I do not think there should be a problem,as the details of our parents name etc are in the passport.
However,I have already got an affidavit made for the same long back.
You can also get an affidavit done..

It seems you need to clear your browsing history, cache and cookies and restart your computer. Then log in to ustraveldocs.com and click menu. In the dropdown list, Click the green login button without doing anything. That will take you to cgi.federal.secure.com
Follow the instructions and do the VAC appointment. All the best.
          Thank you GeoMac sir,
          Really appreciate your prompt response.
I had forgotten that AlienKanpur sir will be travelling to USA during this time, hence no response from his side.
          Best wishes.

That is agreat news. Forum members, please pay attention. Getting Visa Interview appointment is not a complicated issue, proved by sapnaanagol and another lady known to her. Now bretheren whoever is in this situation i.e. post sputum test re-schedulling, please do not worry and try and succeed.
              Congrats sapnaanagol.

Thank you dear Geomac .I received the mail from Consulate today to take my interview slot.I would have lost so many days(9)days if I had waited for the letter.
I also came to know an important news from that letter that I will have to get my visa & travel to USA before 9th Nov,as my medical report will be valid only for 3 months.
At Apollo also the Tuberculosis specialist told me that they will repeat the sputum examination at USA as well! We need to be mentally ready for all that if they have advised sputum examination for us.
This bit of information is for all those who have got Sputum test

                • Hello Dear Members of this Forum,
we reached Chicago safely in the evening of August 17, after a comfortable but tiring journey. We travelled by Swiss air via Zurich. Because of my knee problem we had taken wheelchair for both of us. We went through the immigration within 5 minutes. They did the biometrics for my wife. She was just asked about who had sponsored us and where would we stay. Then my picture was taken. No finger printing. Our passports were stamped admitted under IR5 and that’s it. No waiting in a separate room.
Best wishes to all members of the forum.

                  • Hello
my parents interview is on 8th sept. I live in California but my parents wants to travel to my uncles place (South Carolina) first and then come to visit me. Is it okay to land in South Carolina or do they have to come California first as I am the petitioner.
                    thanks

                      Dear AlienKanpur

Many congratulations for your smooth entry to USA. I wonder why biomatrics was done for your wife only and not for you. You also mentioned that she was asked about the staying address in USA. Anyway, best wishes for your new life in USA with dear ones.

                          Dear PayalRoshanPatel,
where one lands is immaterial. If asked your parents can say that you are in South Carolina on that day. It is perfectly ok to land in SC and then proceed to an other place in the US. Like we landed in Chicago on the 17th and then moved to Rochester MN on the 18th.
                          we are home now.

Thanks a lot Dear AS45. The purpose of biometrics is to ensure that it is the same person who was approved as LPR. Perhaps after doing biometrics for my wife the officer was convinced about the genuineness. All the data is already in their system. Plus there was a tremendous crowd on that day, more than a km long cue for entry.
Best wishes to all for their upcoming interviews.
