    Dear ForParents96,
The soft copy of the duly signed form will be sent to the concerned authorities and then a video call (on what’s app, Google meet, ******** messenger etc) will be made. Subsequently the officer will verify the signature and submit the form. I have already spoken with the people responsible for the verification. I hope that this will work out. From the subsequent years I plan to use Aadhar based authentication, for this we will perhaps need a finger print reader and the retina reader.
    Best wishes

She was asked to come to the hospital right after waking up and without brushing teeth or rinising her mouth. They took 3 samples, one each day. After the sampling was done, we had to wait for 2 months for the report to come. After 2 months past by, we called the hospital to see if the report was available, and they informed us to come meet the doctor to collect the report. Her report was negative. The offical report was sent directly to the consulate and we were given 2 papers that needed to be shown at the consulate and at the airport. After we gotten the results, one week later, the consulate in mumbai emailed with steps to reschedule a finger print and the offical interview. My mother's is on sept. 12th, next month. Just sharing this experience if anyone has to go through additional for the medical.
      Best regards
Dear abhishekhawat, which center did you use for medical exam? Some other posts in this thread mentioned that negative sputum test results were communicated to them by sms/call/email without the need to revisit in-person, so it seems to vary based on each center's policy? Thanks and best wishes for your Mother's interview.

Hello Aviask2, it was done at the Apollo hospital in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. My mother did provide her phone number and my email but we did not get any notifications. So we had to call them several times in order to get the report. They wouldn't tell us the results over the phone. They asked to come visit the doctor to obtain a copy of the report or find out the results directly at the embassy at the time of the interview. I needed to know the results so I asked my mother to visit the doctor to get the results.
        Best wishes,

My experience was different. The Apollo hospital sent sms to me.It was the same with another lady whom I am in contact. The Apollo Gandhinagar however call us & get examined by Tuberculosis expert, who tells us what happens next at USA.
They charge Rs.2,000/- for consultation. They charged only Rs.1000/- from me as i am a doctor!
I wonder if this is done at other medical facilities?

You have to talk to the Bank Manager in advance and take him in confidence that you will video call to prove your living existance. Even if you succeed in doing that, you need to biometrically (fingerprint or retina mapping) enter and then there will be an OTP on your registered mobile phone. When that OTP is entered in the system by the bank officer, your living existance will get proved.
Keeping your mobile phone active to receive SMS, you need to pay a certain amount for international activation (₹99 for 28 days) and then pay for talk time. I am doing this. There can be some other ways too to keep mobile phone active. If anyone has better idea please do inform.
Thanks, GeoMac, I have asked my father to talk to the branch manager. My question is SBI bank has a landline number which nobody ever picks up. I am not sure if manager will give his personal number for video call. I came to know you can submit Life Certificate online but not from outside India, I might be wrong.
Did you take the fingerprint machine from India? How are you going to do from US? Do we need to download few Apps before leaving India? Please guide me.

Regarding the phone, OTP comes only through SMS, I wonder is there a way we can request to bank to send the OTP in ********, so we don't have to keep paying for International Roaming.

a pdf file will be created after signing and sent to the Chief Manager of the SBI, as an attachment with an e-mail. Then I will do a video chat on the personal number of the Chief Manager. I have his personal number.

                  • Dear All,

My parents are approaching their interview at Mumbai consulate for September.

Quick question: Would there be a requirement to make any payments at the Mumbai consulate (cash or check or draft) ? I think the answer is no, but could you kindly confirm.

                    Thanks a lot.

where one lands is immaterial. If asked your parents can say that you are in South Carolina on that day. It is perfectly ok to land in SC and then proceed to an other place in the US. Like we landed in Chicago on the 17th and then moved to Rochester MN on the 18th.
                          we are home now.

                          PRAWAL
                          thank you sir
I have one more query. What paper do you have to carry to the interview ? What did they ask from you ?
And if they land in SC their green card will still come to my address?

                            Dear PayalRoshanPatel,

The intimation from the biometric people gives you a list of all the documents that would be needed at the time of Interview.
                            For a Consular Interview
                            • DS 260 confirmation page
                            • Two recent photographs 2x2 inches
                            • Medical Report (No X-ray films or discs)
                            • Police Clearance Certificate from the Regional Passport Office
                            • Original and photocopy of Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate, Divorce decree
                            • Affidavit of Support: Forms I-864, I-864A, recent Tax returns, W2s and job letter (if not already submitted to the NVC)
As a precaution one should carry originals of all the documents that were submitted either with the I-130 petition or the DS-260 application. Most likely they may not even look at your birth certificate or the marriage certificate.
In our case on June 10, we had everything but they asked only for the documents mentioned above (for me and my wife). They did not ask for the marriage or birth certificate of the petitioner(our daughter). All documents mentioned in the last bullet were already uploaded.
The questions are very simple and the atmosphere is very cordial. They can ask : who has sponsored you. Where does the petitioner live. What do they do. How old are the grand children. When was the last time when you were in USA. Have you ever lived more than six months at a stretch in USA. Have you ever lived for more than one year in any country other than India after the age of 16.
The green card will be sent at the address given by the beneficiary in the forms that may have been filled after receiving the IL. Landing has nothing to do with the receiving of the SSN or the GC.
                            best wishes

                              Dear Krishan8,
The pattern of issue of fresh ILs seems to have changed. From three weeks, it seems to be a month now. As per the new extrapolation the next set of ILs should be sent out in this week.
Best wishes to all in waiting.
